Lead with Purpose. Act with Integrity. Create Impact

At Trio World School, we believe education extends far beyond the classroom—it is about shaping character, nurturing purpose, and preparing students to thrive in a dynamic global landscape.

In line with this vision, we are proud to introduce the International Award for Young People (IAYP), globally known as the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award.

What is IAYP?

The International Award for Young People (IAYP) is a globally recognized, non-competitive youth development programme that empowers young people aged 14–25 to discover their potential and build essential life skills through experiential learning.

Founded in 1956 in the United Kingdom, the Award today operates in over 130 countries and has engaged millions of young people worldwide. In India, it has been active since 1962, supporting students in becoming confident, responsible, and resilient individuals.

The programme is built on a framework of personal challenge and self-development, encouraging students to progress at their own pace while developing:

  • Confidence and resilience
  • Leadership and teamwork
  • Creativity and adaptability
  • Communication and problem-solving skills

Structure of the Award

The Award consists of three progressive levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold.

At each level, students complete four core sections:

  • Skills – developing personal interests and abilities
  • Service – engaging in meaningful community service
  • Physical Recreation – improving fitness and wellbeing
  • Adventurous Journey – undertaking team-based expeditions

What is YES?

A Youth Engaging Society (YES) is an institution officially licensed to deliver the IAYP programme. These centres provide the structure, mentorship, and opportunities required for students to successfully undertake their Award journey.

YES Centres play a critical role in:

  • Facilitating experiential and non-formal education
  • Guiding students through each section of the Award
  • Ensuring quality, safety, and global standards
  • Enabling access to a worldwide network of participants

What it means to be a YES Centre at Trio

Trio World School is proud to be a registered YES Centre for IAYP in Bangalore, bringing this globally respected framework directly to our students. At Trio, the IAYP programme will be implemented in lieu of SUPW (Socially Useful Productive Work). Students will engage in a structured, internationally recognised pathway for holistic development. Learning will extend beyond academics into real-world experiences and meaningful engagement.

This milestone reflects our commitment to delivering not just academic excellence, but also high-quality non-formal education, an essential component in developing character, perseverance, and global awareness.
