Primary School Programme: Class III to V (Age 8 to 11 years)

Trio World School offers the Primary School Programme that has been designed to develop an equal measure of content knowledge, skill application and attitude building in students. The curriculum encourages students to engage in authentic inquiry, exploration and creative problem-solving skills.

It promotes an educational programme that develops student’s curiosity and creativity, allowing them to gain knowledge and skills which are helpful in real life situations. Classroom learning is based on play, discovery, activity based and interactive classrooms.

A wide range of curricular and co-curricular activities such as assemblies, roles plays and special events help instill confidence and discipline in children.

We recognize the twenty-first century demands of high standards of linguistic ability and we help our students acquire the linguistic competence required in various life situations. Emphasis on developing communication skills helps to reflect on their ability to express themselves clearly. It develops children’s competence in various skills – reading, writing, listening, speaking, problem-solving, collaboration, communication, observation, measurement and the use of information and communication technology. Besides these fundamental skills, there is also a drive towards originality, creativity and independence of thought.

The VARK learning styles model

VARK stands for visual, auditory, reading/writing and kinesthetic. Each of these are different learning models. Students experience learning through one or more of these modes. Those with an auditory bias tend to learn through audio. Those with visual preference will learn better through static or moving visuals. Kinesthetic learners learn by doing and experiencing. Reader/writers prefer the written word as the primary means of learning

The VARK model also describes two kinds of learners:

Type one learners: Those who can switch between learning styles as required

Type two learners: Those who have a primary mode of learning
