Learning Through Observation, Experiment and Practice

Practical learning is an important part of science and technology education at Trio World School. Our laboratories give students opportunities to explore classroom concepts through experiments, observation, investigation and hands-on practice.

Across laboratory activities, we aim to provide students with individual access to the equipment and resources required for practical work. In computer-based learning, students work on a 1:1 student-to-computer basis, allowing each learner to participate directly rather than simply observe.

Physics Laboratory

The Physics Laboratory helps students understand scientific principles through practical experiments, measurement and observation.

Students work with curriculum-relevant equipment and learn to take accurate measurements, record data, compare results and connect theoretical concepts with practical applications. Laboratory work also develops careful observation, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Chemistry Laboratory

In the Chemistry Laboratory, students explore concepts through experiments and demonstrations carried out under teacher guidance.

They observe chemical changes, use laboratory apparatus, record findings and relate practical observations to concepts studied in class. Safe laboratory practices and responsible handling of materials form an important part of every practical session.

Biology Laboratory

The Biology Laboratory gives students opportunities to study living systems through observation and investigation.

Using microscopes, models, specimens, charts and other learning resources, students examine structures and processes that are often introduced through diagrams and textbooks. These activities strengthen observation, recording and interpretation skills while encouraging curiosity about the natural world.

Computer & Digital Learning

TRIO provides multiple computer learning spaces where students can apply technology skills through direct practice.

With a 1:1 student-to-computer ratio during practical sessions, students can work independently on coding, computing activities, presentations, projects and other curriculum-related tasks.

These experiences build digital confidence, logical thinking and responsible use of technology, while complementing the wider STEM learning offered at TRIO.

Learning by Doing

Laboratory learning complements classroom teaching by allowing students to test ideas, investigate questions and understand concepts through experience.

Whether measuring a physical quantity, observing a chemical reaction, studying a biological specimen or working on a computer programme, students are encouraged to participate actively, work carefully and understand the process behind the result.

At TRIO, laboratories are an extension of classroom learning and helping students move from knowing a concept to understanding how it works in practice.
