Community service at Trio World School gives students opportunities to engage with people and communities around them through direct participation.
Students are encouraged to share their time, skills and resources in ways that respond to genuine needs. A long-standing part of this work is our association with the neighbouring BBMP Primary School, Kodigehalli.
TRIO students and teachers work with students at the BBMP Primary School through peer learning, mentoring, classroom activities and resource support.
Older TRIO students also take part in cross-age tutoring, giving younger students additional learning support while developing patience, responsibility and an understanding that service can also mean sharing time, knowledge and attention.
Over the years, students and teachers have contributed to different needs identified by the school.
Initiatives have included:
These efforts have developed gradually through the continuing relationship between the two school communities.
TRIO students have also participated in Daan Utsav, supporting students at the Kodigehalli Government School.
Contributions over the years have included tracksuits, plates and glasses, carpets and other useful items identified by the school.
The focus is on understanding what is needed and responding in a practical and thoughtful way.
Students have also used their creativity to support community initiatives.
Through the sale and auction of art and craft work, students raised funds that were directed towards learning resources and improvements at the government school.
This gives students an opportunity to see how planning, creativity and collective effort can contribute to a practical outcome.
Community outreach also creates opportunities for students from both schools to spend time together through shared activities.
In December 2025, Class X students from TRIO hosted students from the BBMP School for a candle-making workshop.
Students worked together to design and create candles, making the session both a practical learning experience and an opportunity to interact with one another.
In January 2026, students from both schools came together for a Sankranti Sports Meet.
Running races, hurdle events and kite-making activities provided an informal setting for students to participate, compete and celebrate together.
TRIO’s community outreach also extends beyond schools.
In one student initiative, reflective raincoats were contributed to Bengaluru Traffic Police in recognition of the work they carry out outdoors during difficult weather conditions.
These experiences connect with TRIO’s core value of Service and help students understand that contributing to the community can take many forms — sharing time, offering practical support, recognising the efforts of others and responding thoughtfully to real needs.
Through these experiences, students develop a stronger sense of empathy, responsibility and participation.
